Are you tired of those old missing keytops on that old upright piano.  This keytop kit is a do it yourself solution for someone who does not want to spend a lot of money on that old piano but wants to improve the feel touch and appearance of their old piano's keyboard.  Included in the kit is the glue that we use to do the job and also some general instructions on how to go about replacing those old keytops. 

These molded keytops include the fronts, and backs all in one molded key.  The step by step process will be explained on how to: 
        
  • Removing All Keys From The Piano
  • Removing old Ivory Keys from keys
  • Cleaning and sanding off old glue
  • Applying glue and then the new key tops
  • Trimming new keytops and installing keys back into the piano


This kit is intended for clients who want to save money and replace the keytops on that old upright piano themselves.  I do not recommend you do this on a piano that is of any significant value.  It would be safer to call a qualified technician to do the job.  However, if you have an older upright with sentimental value, and the job of replacing the keytops from a qualified technician would exceed the value of the piano, then you have nothing to loose by trying this yourself.  It can be done by anyone that has some common sense and some basic handyman skills.  Can you use a screw drive, can you sand some blocks of wood, do you have a steady enough hand to glue objects together properly.  Then you can install these keytops yourself.  We give you some printed instructions in the form of a PDF download link... or if you would rather them printed please specify that at check out and we will send the printed instructions.
