These are four replacement pads for the Humidity tank that is installed in the Life Saver system made by Dampp-Chaser© One of the most popular systems of keeping preserving and maintaining your piano. We install these systems locally and highly recommend them to clients who desire to preserve their instrument.
Water preserves wood, and a piano is made up of 90% wood products. Nothing will destroy a piano over a period of time greater than low humidity, Pin blacks often get loose, bridges & soundboards could crack. Dampp-Chaser© has come up with a system to conveniently humidify the environment of your piano and maintain the ideal humidity. If you do not replace the humidity pads on this great system, the whole system fails and often can do more damage than good. Make sure you have adequate pads to replace the old ones.

Humidifier Pads should be changed twice each year. One package of pads includes two pad changes.
Why fresh Pads are so important Humidifier Pads wick water across the Humidifier Heater Bar to bring moisture into the piano. If the pads are caked with mineral deposits or hardened on top, the Humidifier will not be effective.
Most Piano Life Saver System owners have their Piano Technician/Tuner change the Humidifier Pads during regular piano service. This is particularly recommended for Systems in grand pianos. Some vertical piano owners change the pads themselves because it is much easier to access the humidity tank.
